Generic Prasugrel works to stop blood platelets from clotting, in order to prevent the risk of clots that may result from conditions in the heart or blood vessels. How to take
Swallow Generic Prasugrel whole with a full glass of water. Do not crush, break or chew this medication. This medication may be taken with or without food. Contact your doctor for the precise instructions that apply to you.
Inform your doctor, dentist or surgeon that you are taking this medication before you go in for any surgical procedure or medical test. Do not stop taking this medication without first speaking to your doctor, as suddenly halting treatment may worsen your condition.
Always read the ingredients before taking this or any other medication to ensure that there are no elements that may elicit an allergic reaction. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any of the following side-effects associated with an allergic reaction: hives, shortness of breath, swelling of the lips, tongue, throat or face.
Do not take Generic Prasugrel if you have any internal bleeding (including stomach ulcers of bleeding in the brain as a result of a head injury), or any other reoccurring bleeding anywhere in the body.
Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any of the following serious side effects:
- Unusual or uncontrollable bleeding (including in the nose, gums, or vagina),
- spontaneous bleeding or bruising, blood in the stool or urine, coughing up blood,
- black or tarred stool, vomit that resembles coffee grounds, nausea, migraines, fever,
- red or purple spots under the skin, dizziness, weakness, pale skin, jaundice, chest pains,
- pain in the shoulders or arms, perspiration, disorientation,
- vision impairment, speech impairment, or a severe general sick feeling.
Less serious side effects associated with Generic Prasugrel include:
slight headache, mild dizzy feelings, not serious chest pain, coughing, fatigue, or back pain.

Before taking Generic Prasugrel, consult your doctor if you have a history of any of the following medical conditions:

Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or plan on becoming pregnant before taking this medication.

Contact your doctor if you are taking any of the following medications before adding Generic Prasugrel to your treatment plan:
any NSAIDS (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) (including aspirin and ibuprofen), diclofenac, indomethacin, diflunisal, naproxen, etodolac, ketorolac, flurbiprofen, ketoprofen, meloxicam, mefenamic acid, nabumetone, piroxicam, ect.
Always inform your doctor of any medications you are taking (including vitamins, herbal supplements, and over the counter medications) before embarking on a new treatment. Additional medications not listen here may interact negatively with your medications.
Do not take more than your recommended dosage. Take missed doses as soon as you remember unless it is nearly time for your next treatment.
Keep Generic Prasugrel in a cool, dry place away from heat and moisture. Dispose of any unused medication past the point of expiry. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
